
Welcome to Region 2
Reza Darvishian, P.E., F.ASCE, is Value Engineering Program Manager with the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Overseas Building Operation charged with design and construction diplomatic facilities world wide. Prior to his current position, Mr. Darvishian held several executive positions with top 500 engineering firms, including Chief Operating Officer, and Vice President.
Mr. Darvishian earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri and a master’s degree in engineering management from George Washington University. He is a registered professional engineer in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
Mr. Darvishian has held numerous positions within ASCE, both locally and nationally. He is currently serving as member of Program Committee and International Activity Committee (IAC). Prior to this position he served a three -year term as District 5 Director in ASCE Board of Direction. During his tenure as district 5 director he led the formation of Region 2. He has also served as president of National Capital Section. Mr. Darvishian has served in numerous local and national ASCE committees. In addition to ASCE Mr. Darvishian has served in board of other business and professional organizations such as Committee for Dulles and national capital section of SAVE International.

The Region 2 governor's meeting was recently held at Engineers Club of Western Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh on March 10, 2008. The highlight of the meeting was the formulation of region-2 strategic short, mid, and long term goals. The discussion was led by Region 2 governor and vice-Chair Don Vannoy.
